Disney Adventures cancelled
Dang.

Man, I was totally just getting into the groove with Wulf and Merl. Best of luck to all the other comics artists and writers from DA - it was a fun ride.

I really hope to do more Wulf and Merl stuff in the future - keep an eye on the website.

It is a bummer! Your strips were excellent! (And from what my inside source tells me [whom we shall refer to as Chris S.] quite popular amongst kids that they talked to!)

Thanks! I have no doubt that if I had a few more months, my strip alone could've turned the tide.

Okay, maybe not!

Now Nick's gotta expand by about 80 pages a month, to fill the void!

If we could sell more ads we certainly would expand. But sad truth is that our upcoming issues will be the thinest we've done in year because of the same problems DA had with lack of advertising.

Totally sucks about DA's death...
Gorilla Gorilla
The POTC stories...
and of course the addition of your was making it the best it'd been in forever...

I hope Gorilla Gorilla, Kid Gravity, etc. find new life elsewhere!

And looking forward to more Wulf and Merl when you get to it.

I think you're one of the first...if ONLY folks to own your Disney Adventures stuff...
unless there's a policy in contracts that rights return to creator is result of non-publishing, Disney owns Gorilla Gorilla and Kid Gravity I believe. Jet Pack Jets is owned by the creators.

I wonder what the deal those Dr. Syn comics were. Disney obviously can't own the rights to The Scarecrow or Dr. Syn since it's public domain...

I'd love to see that series collected and continued...I mean...it was Bret Blevins of all people!

The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh comics are based on the 1960's TV show, so the comics aren't public domain.

And of course this comes right after I met you at TCAF!

Sorry I won't get to work with you more through Disney Adventures. Just keep coloring Wulf & Merl as you have been, I think you'll get the best results with keeping the color and line art separate. But if you have any questions I'd be glad to answer them.

what!!! I actually just picked up my first issue last week! I was so happy to finally see your stuff in print (really nice, especially your lettering- it sort of blows my mind) and had the irresistible urge to make everyone else in the grocery store checkout line admire it in my presence.

Perhaps something funky is in the air. I checked biorhythms and horoscopes- is there any other kind of "life sucking a little" predictor?

Nah, like you, I'm not too worried either -- I'm sure something else will work out. For now it just means that I'll be watching my budget a little more next year (and more instant ramen!).

And seeing Jellaby and Wulf & Merl together would've been great to see. Perhaps there is still a chance for that in the future?
